Hungry?

I'm tired. That has nothing to do with this post, but it is foremost in my mind right now.

I made this over the weekend...

D.E.L.ICIOUS! Try it, you'll like it. I promise. (and it's easy!!)
(photo belongs to Pioneer Woman!)

And then I made these, and I think they are my new go-to cookie recipe. Yum.

That's all I've got for today folks. What can I say, it's Wednesday, it's 4:30pm, and I just had two of those cookies for my afternoon snack. I'm done.

Enjoy! =)

P.S. I get to have lunch with this cutie on friday!

Prez Day

Monday is President's Day. Translation = no work! That means I get to sleep in, wear my pajamas till noon, and hang out with the hubs all day. It also means I will only have a 4 day work week. Yippee!

I just love how happy he looks here; its kinda how I'm feeling right now...

Join me on the V-Day Bandwagon

I know, I know. Everybody is talking Valentines Day today, blah blah blah. But really, I like Valentines Day. I like going out to a special dinner, getting red roses, the conversation hearts and cinnamon lips. Yum!

We went here for dinner btw. I had the Teriyaki sizzle plate and it was awesome. CT had a Spicy Tuna roll and Spicy Hamachi sashimi. Yuck. I no do sushi.

Here are a few snapshots of our Valentines Day (celebrated a day early since CT is leaving today).
The flowers, cards, and balloon (aka, Big Scary Balloon; aka BSB).

My flowers and card to CT.
Yes, I buy flower for my hubs.

We are disgustingly cute with our cards. I always say "my CT"...

and he says "my CJ".

Aww....aren't we the cutest!!
Its convenient that our nicknames are matchy-matchy. We must be MFEO.

And now, the story of the before-mentioned BSB. Not scary to me, I think it is very cute and sweet. Scary because Max can't stand it. He runs to the other side of the room just to avoid being by it. He peers around the corner and barks at it, ears back and eyes all crazy. Not like he is mad at it, more like he has no idea what it is and it is freaking him out. Now Max has no problem taking on german shepards, pit bulls, large men, whatever. But there are a few things that freak him; i.e., dogs smaller than him, our friend Breezy, and now, big heart-shaped helium balloons.

See for yourself.BSB

Max unable to take his eyes off of BSB.
See how the ears are flattened and he looks kinda dejected? If you could see his little nubby tail right now, you'd see it is totally tucked down. He was stressing man!

Poor guy. We may have to evict BSB. If anyone would like to help us find it a new home, just give me a shout out. A would love to play with it, right Steve-O?
And finally, to finish off our photo montage, we must have a pic of 3 of my Valentines. Dito was comfy in his bed and couldn't be bothered.

CT, Max the scaredy cat, and Ash (who as soon as I took this pic went and pouted on her bed because she hates the camera. Ahh, we have some seriously neurotic dogs.)

What's not to love about Thursday?

Thursdays always put me in a good mood. The weekend is almost here, the work week is almost over, and my hunny is usually getting home from a 4 day trip within the next 24 hours or so. Today is a particularly beautiful Thursday. No reason really...its just a beautiful day and I'm in a good mood.

Nat and I went and saw this last night...

In a word...Never mind, I can't come up with just one word. It was freaky, and mesmerizing, and dark, and beautiful, and disturbing, and refreshing. It was unforgettable.

On a totally unrelated subject; I think we are going to be picking up one of these little babies shortly. Color me happy! I've missed running. I couldn't run all summer/fall last year because of my hip/back nightmare, and its too freaking cold to run outside right now. Needless to say, I'm psyched to get the treadmill up and running (pun totally intended!). Ah, I crack myself up...

Buh Bye

I'm taking a hiatus from Facebook for awhile. "What and why???" some of you might think appallingly (Jeremy) while others may be at this moment silently cheering me on. I can already feel the "you go girl" coming my way. Well, I'll tell you why I feel the need to cleanse myself from the Facebook influence. I find myself getting caught up in the lives and stories of my 'friends' and then experiencing small bouts of anxiety as I start to imagine how much cooler their lives are and why I'm not doing all those cool things. It could be something as small as "great bike ride today" and I immediately start thinking 'why didn't I go on a bike ride today, I want to ride a bike...' regardless of the fact that its 20 degrees outside and the roads are icy and yucky. And the funny part is that I don't actually want to go on a bike ride. I don't want any of my 'friends' lives! I love my life. I love my husband (love love love him!), my dogs, my family(s), the town we live in, the cars we drive, the friends we have, the goals we've made and the plans we have for our life together. That's the only life I want. The only one I care about.

Building a life with him is the one thing that really matters to me...

So, to eliminate the artificial anxiety I feel while reading all the great adventures of my so-called friends (a handful of which are truly my friends and the rest are what I would consider acquaintances), I'm breaking up with Facebook. Not to worry (Jeremy), it is just temporary. ;-)

To all my Wisconsin peeps...Go Packers! I was psyched for you guys and thought it a great game. To Jake, sorry bud. Maybe next time.

Is it just me...

Or has this been a loooooooong week? Maybe its because CT left so early for work on Tues and I don't get to see him again till friday (tomorrow) after I get home from work. That's a long 4 days ya'll! I'll try not to gush on and on about how much I miss him when he's on a trip, but lets just say this; my days feel so much emptier when he's gone.
Its been a quiet week up here in PC. Sunny, beautiful, but freakin' freezin'. It was negative 19 yesterday morning when I took the pups out before work. Even they didn't want to be outside and they all came limping back to the door within about 2 minutes with their little paws all frozen. Thank goodness its at least above zero now!
CT is in Rapid City tonight, staying here: http://www.haunted-places-to-go.com/alex-johnson-hotel.html . Furthermore, when CT was there last summer, he heard the piano music playing in the middle of the night (read the last paragraph of that link again!). Seriously!! Now, with this little bundle of information, there is no way on this green earth that you could induce me to stay at this hotel. I'm just not down with the whole haunted thing...even though our current living quarters appear to be quite ghost friendly. I just hope he can get a decent night of sleep, without any 'otherwordly' interruptions.
On a last note, its the FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships up here in town this weekend. You should come up and freeze your tootsies off with me.
